The Department of Rheumatology KGMU, Lucknow invites you to the "Celebrating Rheumatology" and " World Lupus Day" on 9th, 10th & 11th May 2019 on the occasion of completion of 32 years of Rheumatology at King George's Medical University, Lucknow.
We are planning to celebrate the work and achievement of our Founder Head, Prof. Siddharth Kumar Das, who demits office shortly on attaining superannuation after serving Rheumatology for 32 years. There will be a galaxy of National and International speakers presenting their views on different aspects of Rheumatology including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Spondyloarthopathy, Systematic Sclerosis, Vasculitis, Osteo-Arthritis, Crystal Arthropathy, Fibromyalgia and other Soft Tissue Rheumatism.
Lucknow is the city of Nawabs and is also known for its Nazakat, Tehzeeb and its Food including Biryani and Kebabs. The dance form of Lucknow is Kathak, one of the famous dance forms of India. 'Chikan' and 'Zardozi' Embroidery is one of the finest embroideries of the world produced by artisans of Lucknow. Lucknow has lots of historical buildings in the Mughal and Indo-Sarecenic style with a lot of modern buildings and parks. The Imambara and labyrinth will enchant one of your mornings.
One of the Seven Wonders of the World- Taj Mahal and Buddhist Pilgrimage point Kushinagar are just four hours drive each from Lucknow. Oldest living city of the world "Kashi" (Varanasi) is six hours drive from Lucknow.

Scientific Program shall cover:
There shall be two innovative programs. These two programs are based on superhit TV serial: 'Game of Thrones' and movie 'Clash of the Titans'. The format of program will be as follows:
| Game 1 Day 2: |
Game of Thrones- Who is the King of Rheumatology 6 applicants will speak on the Statement assigned to them. Every speaker will get 10 minutes to speak. A Panel of Judges, other speakers and Audience get 10 minutes to counter or question the speaker. After all 6 speakers have spoken the speakers will get another 3 minutes to rebut. The Panel o9f Judges decides the King on the basis of who spoke the best, had the best arguments and rebutted the best. The King will be seated on the Iron Throne and crowned. There will be another prize for the person voted as the King by audience. Nominations are invited for contestants for The Throne. Participants may self nominate themselves. They should indicate their preference for subjects RA, SLE,SPA, Gout, Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia. |
| Game 2 Day 3: |
Clash of the Titans- The country will be divided into 4 zones. East, West, North and South. Teams will be named as Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee's Team, Dr. V.R.Joshi's Team, Dr. A.N.Malviya's Team and Dr. A.N.Chandrashekran's Team. These Titans will select their teams and the Team Leader. Each Team will present a case, which shall be analyzed by another team. The Analyzing team will be assessed. The Analyzing team gets 5 minutes to discuss among themselves. The Team Leader of the analyzing team will decide who will discuss the case from his/her team. The Panel of Judges, other teams, and audience will be free to find discrepancies in diagnosis and plan of management. The Panel of Judges will decide the Winners based on who analyzed and fielded the question best. There will also be a prize for the best case. |
